OUR FOUNDER
Patrick Schoutens — Founder & Chief Architect
Patrick Schoutens is the Founder and Chief Architect of Autonomos AI. His work focuses on autonomous intelligence, AI governance and the increasingly important question of how intelligent systems should be controlled when machine decisions can lead to real-world actions.
His career has been characterised by challenging conventional approaches to complex technology problems and developing practical systems for demanding operational environments. That work ultimately led to a larger question: if artificial intelligence can increasingly reason, decide and act independently, where should authority reside? Autonomos grew from that question.
Patrick’s current work examines the technical and governance structures required to enable useful autonomy while preserving control, accountability and organisational authority.

Our Position
Autonomos does not believe the answer to increasingly capable AI is simply to make AI less capable. Nor do we believe organisations should surrender authority to opaque autonomous systems. The challenge is to develop governance capable of keeping pace with intelligence. Control should scale with capability.
